| On Saturday 4th July 2009 the juniors of Hartswood
LTC took part in a fundraising event to raise money for
the MicroLoan Foundation which is a UK
based charity, providing small loans, basic business
training and continuing guidance to groups of women,
primarily in sub-Saharan Africa. The event was a 'aroundtheworldathon',
which involves running from one end of the court, hitting
a ball and running to the other end of the court. The day included a BBQ, a raffle with amongst other great prizes a star prize of an Nintendo DS, an auction for tickets to the Barclays Masters end of year tournament at the O2 arena in November and a cake sale. This event rasied approximately £2,500 so a big thank you also to Mahmuda for organising such a successful day and all the other people who participated, bid or bought raffle tickets. |
